Back in Boston! :)

So I'm finally back in Boston. So many huge changes are happening all at once, but everything so far is a positive change, so even though it's overwhelming, it's awesome :)

Joe and I moved in together into our own apartment and adopted the best kitten ever, who we named Luna. I've started back to class and work and have gotten to hang out with my friends who I haven't really seen much since last December.

Yesterday, I had a quick shoot with Jacquelyn Marie Potter's best friend and awesome model Cassidy. Jackie is super talented and her photos of Cassidy are amazing... check them out here! Anyway, Cassidy just moved to Boston for school and Jackie suggested I shoot with her since we're so close... and of course I was stoked to! Hopefullllyyy Jackie will be coming to Boston and we'll all get to hang out and shoot which would be awesome!

Anyway, Cassidy and I headed to the gardens for a quick shoot! Cassidy was awesome and I'm so glad Jackie introduced us! :)

Here are some of the pics, though I'll probably put a few more on facebook/flickr in the next couple days!

    1. Wow, that's extremely rude. Her skin is retouched the same way I retouch everyone's skin, and I don't even do heavy retouching on skin... she has a stunning face. Don't chalk it up to retouching. And really? Resorting to anonymous?

I'm sorry that you feel that I shamed her beauty by retouching her blemishes and enhancing the color and lighting of the photograph as I do to *every other photograph I've ever published*, but I can't help but feel that you're just being naive. Here is a before picture so you can see how little I retouched her face. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae38/EmilyTebbetts/CW4C6164.jpg

Please learn what you're talking about before needlessly insulting me. Thank you!

    2. PS, looking back, that photo is one of the most "retouched" of the set.

    3. Wow... That is one terrible and inaccurate comment... >_< What a shameful thing to say to such an obviously talented and experienced photographer.

    4. I think you retouch your phots very well...I've always loved the colors in your pictures...Don't worry about that kind of comments!

    1. you're welcome. :)
P.S: you shouldn't even spend time replying to people who don't appreciate the effort you put in your work, anyways.

    2. thank you, I appreciate it, you're so sweet! :) It's hard not to reply when ironically, this shoot is one that I spent very little time retouching on (and I'm not someone who ever spends much time retouching to begin with), haha. But you're right... it's a waste of time! :)

  8. Please excuse this long comment, but there is a lot to say about this post!

Firstly, I adore it more than anything. Your work just has this beautiful essence to it; it's pure, raw and full of emotion. The colours you use are always exceptional and your quality very literally blows my mind - you are just consistently strong.

Putting my two cents where it may not be welcome, I thought the first comment was incredibly immature and it saddened me to see it. The fact people feel they can hide behind anonymity to say something cruel and unconstructive is very sad indeed. It's blatantly obvious her face isn't 'photoshopped' if you take the actual time to look. Calling a professional photographer like Emily out on something she hasn't done isn't helpful and is a waste of breath. She has beautiful skin as every photographer removes blemishes which can make already good-looking skin look glowing.

All in all, these are beautiful and have brightened my day. You are such a huge inspiration. <3

  9. It's good to hear that you're going through a lot of positive change and moving in with your boyfriend (if I'm assuming correctly? :]). And what a beautiful girl, I love the colors in all of these pictures. She has an interesting eyes, hope this doesn't sound rude, it looks somewhat stereotypically Asian. :) But glad to hear that you enjoyed meeting Cassidy, new people are always great! :D

    Beautiful pictures! :D
