wild child: black and white

I'm horrible at choosing so I'm splitting this shoot up into three more sections:
- wild child: bw
- wild child: color
- flora

I hope you like them! let me know your faves, I'm gonna need help deciding which to put up on flickr and such! :)

model is the fabulous mia, who did the hair and makeup too!

  1. Emily...I love these shots! This model has such a unique look... I'm getting a very rocker-grunge vibe here. I love her jewelry as well!

... You never fail to impress me with your work!

  4. May I ask you the title? I don't understand why "child"...It doesn't remind me a child. I love her, but in my opinion she's very expressive, and mature, and powerful. Like she has saw lot in her life, and she has lot to talk about. Childern doens't have this kind of espression, they are more naive and thoughless. But I guess you have an explanation to the title :)

this wasn't a critique, I just want to understand it better.

    Take care

  6. thank you everyone!! :D mia is definitely an amazing model :)

Second Wind- hmm. I'm horrible at titles, but this one stuck for me. It was one of those whims of the heart. To me it makes sense because it's an expression and because, although Mia is definitely very mature and her look is mature in these, her smallness and the fact that she is younger (and that I've known of her/known her for a couple years now) to me reminds me of youth. I don't mean child in that exact, literal sense, I mean it more as the teenager she is. And the crazy-girl makeup and hair and the accessories reminded me of a feral girl, but to me, that's young. Because of the thought behind the shoot being kinda wild/feral/crazy, etc, these fierce, unrefined expressions are youthful to me, not mature.

I think a couple of the pictures came out that I liked that don't really go with the look, so to outsiders it probably looks more scattered or like a random choice of title, but until I just looked at it from an outsider's point of view, I saw all of these as being wild and such since I was on the shoot and I saw Mia's crazy look the whole time :P

I hope this answered your question! the truth is that I'm horrible at titles so they often make no sense and come from some struggling place in my mind :P
